Exciting new opportunity to join one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world.
Primary role purpose is to plan, lead and coordinate the tax activities and tax compliance of Life Europe as it expands significantly into new territories and develops new products. This will include ensuring product compliance from a customer and corporate perspective (utilizing external legal opinions where necessary) together with managing the company’s tax position and tax compliance matters with due regard to the position of the Group, minimizing tax expense and ensuring all opportunities to conduct business in a tax efficient manner are utilized.
The role may also where requested by other business lines within Ireland (reinsurance, corporate/private banking and securities services) provide advice or tax services (preparation of tax returns, audit of tax compliance, coordination with tax authorities) in areas such as corporation tax, withholding tax, VAT and other direct/indirect/ operational taxes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Provide tax technical advice and support on all product offerings by the Group, with particular focus on Life Europe.
· Review and coordinate sourcing of product and ?general good? opinions from external tax advisors.
· Support and advice of tax implications around newly created Swiss branch of life company.
· Liaise with tax authorities on tax audits and other tax matters impacting business activities.
· Provide tax technical advice and support to the business to ensure that transactions are structured in the most tax efficient manner.
· Address any transfer pricing matters for Group’s Insurance Ireland and ensure supporting transfer pricing documentation is implemented.
· Manage tax filings for Irish businesses.
Skills & Experience
· Qualified tax professional (preferably Chartered Institute of Taxation or equivalent, Chartered Accountant, etc).
· Specialist knowledge in Irish taxation direct and indirect taxation, insurance taxation and operational tax matters with particular focus on cross border life insurance and reinsurance.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tax processes and work with multiple managers
· Commercial awareness and sound judgement.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with Excel, Word and other software, excellent problem solving and project management skills.
