Job Description
The Inventory Accounting Associate Manager is a member of the operational leadership team of the Global Financial Shared Service - Europe (GFSS-E) centre,
an established operation located in Dublin, Ireland providing financial transaction processing and accounting support for all Pfizer businesses in 19 countries.
This role is responsible for Inventory accounting and reporting within Pfizer Europe and providing financial expertise to the Pfizer supply chain team and local
Market teams.
Roles/Responsibilities
• Translate strategic direction for Inventory area into short and long term operational and tactical objectives with hands-on oversight
• Project planning and implementation
• Develop and monitor Inventory accounting policies and procedures, and resolve functional issues
• Ensure that Inventory data transactions are handled in accordance with Pfizer policies
• Ability to operate in and understand complex legal and tax structures with regard to inventory process flows
• Ability to understand and contribute to tax driven business process flows
• Responsible for Inventory Accounting in US GAAP and Statutory books
• Maintain the books; including inventory reconciliations and provide data for audited financial statements
• Ensure that an adequate internal control environment exists in the inventory accounting area and that all deadlines are met
Skills/Experience
- Solid manufacturing/inventory background with experience in costing and financial accounting processes
- Strong knowledge of business processes supported by transaction processing capabilities Must demonstrate leader behaviours to help shape and model desired culture in an established operation
- o Must be able to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills required
- Familiarity with European statutory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of approx. 40 professionals through a period of significant change
- Seven to ten years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficiency in English, additional language skills preferred
Education / Professional Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
- Qualified Accountant
