Our client is a leading PLC with domestic and international operations.

Job Description

The position is to initiate and implement key Company financial requirements in terms of control environment, Group reporting , local compliance, statutory requirements as well as assisting in systems implementations. In the initial period the role will primarily be concentrated on Ukraine, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary as these are the new jurisdictions linked to a recent acquisition.

1. Implementation of control environment standards
2. Key point of contact on reporting for these countries until they are self sufficient
3. Assist in implementation of best in class financial processes and support ERP implementations across same.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Ensure all the required internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets of the company.
  • Operate the financial systems to a sufficient level to ensure the business is provided with properly financially controlled KPI’s.
  • Assist in preparation of year-end financial statements, both in Group/IFRS format as well as preparation of locally compliant financial statements.
  • Work with the Group to ensure transfer pricing back-up and files are maintained.
  • Provide assistance on due diligence in the regions as well as supporting completion/ fair value accounting where an acquisition is made.
  • Proactively support tax planning within the countries where opportunities are noted.
  • Provide accurate and detailed back-up to FX exposures and work with business and Division to implement cover where required.
  • Support implementation of ERP financial modules across newly acquired businesses in the region.

Skills/Experience

  • The successful candidate will hold a chartered accounting qualification. and will have at least four years of experience with one of the big four audit firms.
  • The will also ideally have strong process improvement experience
  • The successful candidate will display a high work ethic and strong entrepreneurial style (Result oriented / pragmatic / dynamic).
  • The candidate must be willing to travel up to 75 % of the time, both domestic and international is required.
  • The level of travel requires a relatively autonomous individual in terms of working style.
  • Language / Fluency - Desirable to have additional language capabilities - French, German, Eastern European

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • ACA qualified - ideally from Big 4 or Top 10 firm
  • 2.1 minimum degree required
